# Original desktop character and demo journey — v3
The user identified the original CRT computer in the supplied live-site screenshot as the missing character work. This delivery extends that same drawing with a real gesture rig, richer acting and a customer-facing route into the existing demo request. It preserves the completed mobile upgrade and both earlier delivery folders.
## Build authority and scope
The supplied SEO/AIO manual in `private/standards/SEO-AIO-Library.txt` governs the website. Existing HTML, accessibility, measurement and conversion requirements apply to the character. The character is an enhancement to the customer journey: real links and the native form remain usable independently of animation.
The public source remains React/TypeScript, SVG, CSS and Node. No new framework, database, duplicate organization/person graph or backend service is introduced. The original drawing paths, mobile geometry, mobile motion and five verified mobile Rive files remain preserved. New arms and hand variants are a separately named additive vector rig.
The original desktop's twelve states remain available; twenty new states add expressive moods, physical gestures and demo invitation/success performances. Rude gestures require an explicit visitor request and keep their opaque censor attached to the hand. The navigation and form do not depend on seeing the gag.
## Work and ownership
| Item | Outcome | Evidence |
| --- | --- | --- |
| D1 | Additive desktop arms/hands and original-path preservation | Desktop geometry tests and vector inspection |
| D2 | 32 coordinated performances, safe lifecycle and attitude gating | Desktop controller tests, sampled poses and runtime-rendered proof |
| D3 | Character dialogue, project choices, roasts and real demo links | Conversation state tests and portable browser tests |
| D4 | Finite project handoff into the existing form, preserving edits | Intent tests, SSR/build checks and browser test source |
| D5 | Consented finite interaction events, separate from accepted leads | Analytics tests and `DESKTOP-MEASUREMENT.md` |
| D6 | Current integrated source/build/API regression checks | Final local verification and `DESKTOP-ACCEPTANCE.md` |
| D7 | Original-character proof and guarded v1/v2 upgrade | Rendered contact sheets/movie, source hashes and installer rehearsal |
## Practice brief
The professional method is to preserve the illustration, isolate added joints and hand variants, drive those parts through the actual existing controller, and verify both rendered poses and the customer flow. Expressions use anticipation, readable holds and a settle. Cases and lettering stay rigid. A gesture's completion cannot overwrite a newer user action or submission state.
The conversion design is a design decision to be measured, not a promise of increased leads. Visitors get clear choices, useful context and a normal link to the demo request. Selecting a mood does not navigate, and no timed performance submits the form. No urgency, price, outcome or testimonial is invented.
The project choice is an allowlisted token, not arbitrary content. Server-rendered and initial hydrated form values agree; the choice is applied once after hydration only if the form remains untouched. Existing validation, field preservation, submission consent and SMTP acceptance semantics remain authoritative.
Primary accessibility guidance checked for this task: [On Input](https://www.w3.org/WAI/WCAG22/Understanding/on-input.html) informs predictable control behavior; [Status Messages](https://www.w3.org/WAI/WCAG22/Understanding/status-messages.html) informs concise accessible outcomes; [Pause, Stop, Hide](https://www.w3.org/WAI/WCAG22/Understanding/pause-stop-hide.html) informs independent playback control. These references complement the supplied build manual; they do not replace it.
## Toolchain and verification limits
The execution host was verified as Linux x64, Node 24.19.0, eight available CPUs and about 22 GB free memory. Locked runtime dependencies are unchanged. Offline proof uses real React SVG output and the actual desktop controller's attributes, rasterized with native Canvas and encoded with ffmpeg. It is an animation proof, not a browser recording.
Local browser access was explicitly rejected earlier in this session. No alternate browser engine, tunnel or CDP route is used. Authored browser/device tests remain unexecuted here. Existing live account, real mailbox, browser WebGL and production cutover gates remain external observations. The completed execution status and actual counts are recorded in `DESKTOP-ACCEPTANCE.md`.
