# AI GitHub recovery comparison **Owner:** Joseph Anady **GitHub namespace inspected:** `Janady13` **Review date:** September 15, 2026 **Mode:** Read-only source, repository-history, and rebuild-document comparison ## Executive conclusion Substantial original source and later reference implementations remain recoverable. The rebuild should start from preserved, commit-pinned implementations and historical state, rather than replacing them with architecture reconstructed only from conversations. There is not one interchangeable SEFERIM codebase. The inspected repositories represent distinct historical lines: AI_Brain / The-Tired-AGI, Rhiannon, the ThatAIGuy–Seferim shell-system archive, a C++ G16 scaffold, a later JavaScript mathematical reference, and older Healer infrastructure. Their names and equation labels overlap, but their implemented behavior and completeness do not. The highest-value recovery finding is the reachable parent of an AI_Brain cleanup commit that removed documentation and older source. The highest-value integration finding is that SEFERIM versions and rebuild notes disagree about mathematical transitions. No production deployment or flattening of these repositories is justified by this review. ## Scope and evidence boundaries The connected GitHub repository inventory was searched. Source and history were inspected in five principal repositories; ai-brain-core was reviewed at README and tree/backup level. Other AI-related roots were enumerated, not comprehensively audited. Selected files were examined, not every byte, branch, pull request, historical commit, or dependency. No GitHub file, branch, issue, pull request, deployment, service, or user device was modified. No archived startup script was run. No original repository build or test suite was executed. Local Git clones could not be obtained because container DNS access to github.com was unavailable; connected GitHub reads did work. The included Python diagnostics independently reproduce selected inspected equations. They are NOT execution of the original JavaScript or C++ source, and are not a certification of either implementation. Numerical findings below are counterexamples under explicit initial conditions. Library documents were compared as historical records, not as proof of September 15 live device state. The August 3 and August 23 observations were not re-run on their original devices. ## 1. These are dates of the inspected commits/releases, not proof that all underlying ideas originated then. The word Pantheon already occurs in the January archive; naming alone is not a reliable generation boundary. ### Relevant paths ```text RECOVERY_SOURCE_MAP/ # Proposed index, not a new runtime ├── original_dna_line/ │ └── AI_Brain @ d6c309d3fa43 │ ├── historical_snapshot @ fc363d2da0d4 │ │ └── README.md # Readable before cleanup │ └── the_tired_agi/core/src/ │ ├── dna_core_real.cpp # Inspected real-time system wiring │ ├── dna_api.cpp # Located │ ├── dna_core_rt_main.cpp # Located │ └── blake3.c # Defect: stored HTML, not C ├── rhiannon_line/ │ └── rhiannon @ df358362a21f │ ├── src/agents/two_way_engine.cpp │ └── tests/rhiannon_tests.cpp ├── original_system_and_later_synthesis_archive/ │ └── complete-agi-core @ 223c58f8857e │ ├── thataiguy/ │ ├── seferim/ │ └── unified/ # Historical third-system synthesis ├── g16_reference_implementations/ │ ├── seferim-agi-g16 @ 25f281b08b2f │ │ └── src/common/g16_core.cpp │ └── seferim-core @ 1f05cd5640ed │ ├── src/seferim-core.js │ ├── docs/MATHEMATICS.md │ └── test/run.js └── infrastructure_recovery/ └── ai-brain-core @ f7275582f13a └── .git_backup_1755669199/ # Objects present; restore not tested ``` This is a mapping of reviewed or located paths, not a complete file tree, code merger, or claim that every named source was executed. ## 2. AI_Brain history is a real recovery route Cleanup commit `527d4882c71eb041393f9d8945996177c5ac9e86`, dated November 13, 2025, states that documentation, JSON datasets, enumeration files, older services, training/corpus material, infrastructure, and other files were removed after consolidation into a smaller knowledge-base text file. Its verified immediate parent is: ```text fc363d2da0d442c4daaa7689be1c6f9796993a5c ``` A fetch of the root README at current main returned 404. A fetch of that README at the parent succeeded. The historical README describes the older Hive seeding/Postgres/service family. Thus, at least some apparently missing source documentation is demonstrably reachable in Git history. The commit message's claim that all knowledge was retained is not evidence of lossless preservation. The consolidated text file must not replace the original tracked source, datasets, or provenance. Recover historical trees into new, read-only snapshots; do not reset or overwrite current main. This November 2025 repository cleanup is a separate event from the September 2026 ChatGPT Project-sidebar/index problem. This review does not establish a causal connection between them. ### A source-file defect was verified `the_tired_agi/core/src/blake3.c` at the inspected current ref begins with `<!DOCTYPE html>` and GitHub webpage markup. Direct file content and its blob SHA establish that this is stored content, not a browser rendering of valid C. Blob: ```text 05243d346b8d55807fa2819dae6d668e45008742 ``` Any build target compiling that file as C needs the dependency repaired or replaced with a verified implementation. This is not a claim that every repository target was compiled and failed. Adjacent files and the precise dependency/version/license should be checked before repair; avoid unverified downloads and archived credentials. ## 3. SEFERIM matches the design vocabulary, but not the full rebuild contract The JavaScript reference provides actual implementations named MetaState, DNAMemory, Gate5000, NeuralBrain, ConsciousnessEngine, LatticeEngine, and Federation. Its README identifies it as a clean-room reference for a 69-equation specification. The recovered rebuild plan asks for more: a bounded 16-agent-plus-hub system, explicit stability validation, durable Book-of-Life records, identity and lineage, provenance and contradiction handling, authenticated/idempotent state commits, Postgres persistence, state/query/coherence endpoints, and feedback to ORACLE. The plan itself states that its phases were not yet built. The inspected JavaScript module is an in-memory mathematical reference. Its Federation class is a numerical coupling model, not a deployed network protocol; its DNAMemory retains a 16-component associative vector rather than the original knowledge records. The complete reference tree contains no corresponding Book-of-Life/Postgres/NATS runtime. This finding is scoped to that reference repository, not a claim that no later implementation exists anywhere else. ### 3.1 Gate5000: different state transitions Repository transition: ```text phaseDNA = (phaseDNA + 0.013618) mod 1 phaseFib = (phaseFib + 1/phi) mod 1 threshold = ((phaseDNA + phaseFib) / 2) * 1000 flip_i = 1[(i mod 1000) < threshold] gate_i = (gate_i XOR input_i XOR flip_i) AND 1 ``` Rebuild-note transition: ```text phaseDNA = (phaseDNA + 0.013618) mod 1 phaseFib = (phaseFib + 1/phi) mod 1 flip = 1[fract(phaseDNA + phaseFib) > 1/2] gate_i = (gate_i XOR input_i XOR flip) AND 1 ``` With 5,000 zero gates, zero starting phases, and zero input, the independent first-tick calculation produces: | Formula | Gates set to 1 | |---|---:| | Inspected JavaScript repository rule | 1,580 | | Rebuild-note rule | 5,000 | There are 3,420 differing positions. These cannot be silently described as the same transition. Preserve both variants and their provenance; choose the intended canonical version using original specification/history and replay evidence. The diagnostic does not establish which variant Joseph intended. The Gate5000 name alone does not establish a historical compression ratio or an eight-billion-neuron deployment. Those claims require the corresponding representation, before/after artifacts, and benchmark/state evidence, none of which was validated here. ### 3.2 C++ versus JavaScript: normalization order differs The C++ update computes the normalizer from the weighted family outputs before inertia and stability gating. The JavaScript update computes it after those operations. They share many formulas but not the same complete transition. For the included controlled setup—current/previous state components 0.1, all weights 1, inputs dx=0.3/error=0.1/utility=0.6/stability=0.8, gamma_min=0.1, and the same golden ratio—the independently reproduced normalizers are approximately: ```text C++ ordering: 0.7508986281874979 JS ordering: 0.8575070954017114 Maximum next-state component difference: 0.025412793372188158 ``` These are controlled formula comparisons, not observations of deployment-specific C++ parameters. A cross-language replay/conformance suite is required before either version is called a faithful drop-in replacement for the other. ### 3.3 Metrics and learning need causal tests Three source-level issues deserve explicit tests: **Neural synchrony:** the statistic averages cos(km_i), but km_i is initialized to fixed evenly spaced phases and the inspected step does not update it. For 88 default agents the value is approximately zero and remains independent of evolving x/y/P/c. A range assertion alone cannot verify actual dynamic synchrony. **ConsciousnessEngine:** evaluate() takes no runtime input and reinitializes the same recurrence on every call. The independent reproduction returns approximately 0.287833319274299 on every evaluation. This is a fixed generated quantity, not a measurement of changing live-system state. A 374-value binding array does not by itself demonstrate 374 independently implemented scientific mechanisms. **Lattice learning:** the weight matrix W is updated by a Hebbian rule, but the inspected state transition does not read W. Therefore changes to these learned weights cannot affect subsequent state evolution through that method as currently written. This is a missing causal connection, not merely a missing dashboard label. The provided test file checks constants, example formulas, sizes, bounds, and finiteness. It does not establish durable recovery, live distributed health, cross-version equivalence, or outcome-driven learning. Its memory-test comment mentions recall outperforming an unrelated item, but the inspected assertions do not perform that comparison. No original test-suite pass count is claimed by this audit. ## 4. Rhiannon: useful recovered implementation, narrower than the original notes The actual TwoWayEngine initializes a bounded sigmoid parameter model, minimizes squared error to a target, and adds a small parameter-space correction. The source explicitly describes that correction as a proxy for the reverse step. SIMD and Metal entry points are no-op placeholders in the inspected implementation. The broader equation notes describe Epona supervising Rhiannon with DNA_G16, Gate5000, coherence, stability, energy, entropy, neuron costs, coupling/routing, environment matching, safeguards, repair, and compression. Those notes are mathematical intent; the small optimizer is not implementation evidence for every component. Preserve the code, build harness, and tests. Map each intended mechanism separately to its actual source, tests, and state rather than renaming this optimizer as the complete original system. A verified exact inverse-training engine was not established by this inspection. ## 5. complete-agi-core: preserve history; do not trust synthetic health The repository preserves distinct ThatAIGuy and Seferim directories alongside a later unified synthesis. This is valuable for tracing identity, configuration, and operational history. However, `unified/core/unified-orchestrator.sh` explicitly simulates generator processing and increments PHI_FIELD using `$RANDOM`. Other metrics derive from that scalar. The saved JSON also sets certain `active` fields to true without demonstrating the corresponding component's health. Some calculation failures fall back to plausible numeric constants. These behaviors conflict with the current recovery directive's fail-closed, no-false-health, measured-learning requirements. Historical counts such as 8,000 substrate nodes or 128 agents are configuration/documentation, not proof of a running intelligence. Extract useful historical contracts and scripts into a review lane. Do not reactivate this orchestrator just to make status readings increase, or use its synthesis directory to flatten identities and state. ## 6. Source recovery and runtime-state recovery are different The August 23 storage audit records an iCloud `AGI_Data/seferim` tree with 122,594 files and approximately 1.27 GB, including roughly 67,451 snapshot objects and about 55,012 Python-knowledge files. It also identifies an iCloud complete-agi-core Git root and other source/state copies. Those historical locations matter because code alone does not restore learned state, identity history, checkpoints, or knowledge records. Those August observations require fresh verification on an authorized device before claiming current completeness. Do not merge or deduplicate state by filename alone. The recovered later plan calls NATS the nervous system and the Book of Life the spine. That establishes a later architectural description, not recovery of the exact pre-Pantheon spine/nervous-system implementation Joseph previously requested. That earlier component-level identification remains open. A deployment-map conflict also exists: the later plan assumes a Seferim API on VALKYRIE:8088, while the August 3 update to PANTHEON-COMPLETE says seferim-fed on that port was stopped and disabled. Neither document should override fresh device/process/endpoint evidence. The plan also describes 512-, 2,048-, and 5,000-bit signatures as interoperable because they are binary. That is insufficient as an interface contract. Their encoders, dimensions, semantics, serialization, transformations, and validation must be explicitly defined and tested. ## 7. Recovery sequence recommended from the findings ### Phase A — preserve provenance before changes Preserve current source refs, the AI_Brain pre-cleanup parent, reachable historical refs, and the nested ai-brain-core Git backup. Make separate immutable inventories with repository/path/commit/blob hashes. Recover deleted tracked files into new snapshots, not over existing work. Treat environment/credential-bearing paths as quarantined; do not export secret values or reactivate old integrations. ### Phase B — create a mechanism-to-source comparison For each mechanism, record: ```text mechanism_id historical specification + exact section/version original source repo/path/ref/blob later implementation repo/path/ref/blob semantic differences state format + owner + checkpoint location acceptance test + failure behavior status: recovered / partial / missing / conflicting / unverified ``` Resolve Gate5000 and normalization-order conflicts explicitly. Separate reference mathematics, executable implementation, deployment glue, measured capability, and durable state. File names, module counts, and README status words are not substitutes for those distinctions. ### Phase C — isolated verification and minimal repair Repair verified build-input corruption using pinned, reviewed dependencies. Run native builds and original suites in an isolated environment before enabling network or action behavior. Add deterministic replay, operation-order, learned-weight ablation, input-sensitive metrics, memory discrimination, persistence/restart, corruption, and failure-path tests. Check state migration round trips and rollback before any live import. ### Phase D — reconnect only after the existing device gates Retain the current integration-only lock, no-destructive-storage rules, M2 runtime exclusion, donor-runtime prohibition, explicit state ownership, and missionMATCH separation. Establish current device health and state integrity before any ORACLE/SEFERIM activation. Integration should use the existing executive and identity/state contracts; do not create another independent brain merely to combine repository names. ## 8. Open items, not represented as complete - Every repository, historical branch, PR, tag, and deleted file has not been exhaustively inspected. - The exact original pre-Pantheon spine/nervous-system implementation has not been conclusively identified. - No matching live-device binaries, process identities, installed commit refs, or generation-157 state were revalidated. - Book-of-Life implementation elsewhere in local/private storage remains to be located and tested; its absence in the JS reference is not universal absence. - The nested Git backup has not been restored or integrity-tested. - No historical eight-billion-neuron run or claimed compression ratio was verified. - No original native build or repository suite was executed, and no production deployment is certified. ## Primary evidence locator GitHub links below identify reviewed source or metadata.
