Explain what a donor scan or local arithmetic change can establish and which checks remain necessary.
Useful background: Compare generations without losing history
A donor dossier contains several evidence layers
The August donor dossiers preserve model configuration, tensor inventories, embedded code, local modifications, and historical installation reports. A successful file transfer or header scan establishes a different fact from successful inference or acquired capability in another runtime.
Read each tensor shape against the transformation that consumes it. Matrix multiplication requires matching inner dimensions. A mismatch between an inventory table and a constructor is a concrete source inconsistency to investigate against actual tensor headers, not a reason to invent a corrected weight file.
Exact arithmetic is relative to its inputs
An integer multiply-and-accumulate can be exact for its integer inputs if overflow is excluded. Quantized weights and activations may already approximate original real values. Rescaling, nonlinear functions, and surrounding floating-point operations can add further error.
The source’s use of a phrase such as exact generators therefore needs a scoped explanation. Evaluate numerical error and task behavior after the whole pipeline, and keep donor-model published results separate from results actually measured for local modifications.
Inspect a small integer transformation
1Check the shapes
A 2-by-3 matrix can multiply a 3-by-4 matrix because the inner dimensions agree. The output has shape 2-by-4.
2Compute one exact integer sum
For illustrative integer inputs, compute 2 × 3 + 4 × (−1) = 2. This sum is exact if the numeric representation does not overflow.
3State the precision boundary
If those integers came from quantization, exact accumulation does not undo the earlier approximation. Compare the dequantized pipeline output with an appropriate reference.
Make the idea respond
The workshop practices evidence classification rather than tensor arithmetic or donor loading. Compare a versioned source inspection with a completed test, then apply that distinction to a donor dossier: transferred files, shape compatibility, actual execution, and measured capability are different checks.
Change one input at a time. Predict what should happen, then compare the computed result with your prediction.

Read a claim like a researcher
Practice separating a proposed design, an inspected implementation, and evidence from an actual experiment.
Each scenario is hypothetical. Classify the evidence actually provided, then inspect the explanation and the next evidence needed. A correct answer here is practice feedback, not a scientific or professional certification.
Try this: identify what each scenario directly establishes before deciding whether it supports a broader capability claim.
The default worked example is shown below.
A promising architecture
A design note says: “The next version will combine persistent state, a graph, and a planning loop.” No implementation or experiment is attached. What does this support?
These are hypothetical teaching scenarios. Choose a category and check your reasoning to reveal a specific explanation. A title, model name, equation, or moving counter alone cannot establish a scientific capability.
Your turn.
Try an answer before opening a hint. Feedback will explain the result, and you can practice again.

A 2-by-3 matrix multiplied by a 3-by-4 matrix produces how many scalar output entries?
Read the solution
The output contains 8 entries.
What is the integer dot-product sum 2 × 3 + 4 × (−1)?
Read the solution
The sum is 6 − 4 = 2.
A file checksum matches after transferring donor weights. What is directly established?
- All tensor shapes match every consumer.
- The transferred bytes match the referenced bytes under that checksum check.
- The new runtime has acquired every donor capability.
- The new runtime has run inference successfully.
Read the solution
A matching checksum supports byte integrity for the identified artifact.
Exact integer accumulation over quantized inputs guarantees which result?
- The integer sum, when overflow is excluded; other pipeline errors remain separate.
- Exact real-valued end-to-end inference.
- No quantization error anywhere.
- Every local capability matches the donor model card.
Read the solution
The exactness claim applies to the specified integer sum, not every transformation in the model.
Follow the original record
Use the definitions you just practiced to read the project’s own notation, assumptions, and evidence.
The ideas to keep
- Separate transfer integrity, tensor compatibility, execution, and capability.
- Read shapes against actual operations.
- Scope numerical exactness to its inputs and arithmetic.
Reading completion is separate from your practice evidence.
