That AI Guy

Buyer questions, answered

Every common question across what a federation is, how engagements work, data ownership, timelines, and SDVOSB federal contracting. If your question is not here, ask it in the assessment.

What we do

The short version

What does That AI Guy actually do?

That AI Guy builds private AI federations: a reasoning core, a private data store, retrieval, and an event path for agents to act, all running on hardware an organization owns. That includes custom AI integrations such as chatbots, retrieval augmented generation, and workflow automation, plus the custom software and infrastructure a federation needs to run.

How is this different from a typical AI vendor or agency?

That AI Guy is one founder and lead engineer, not a stack of account managers and subcontractors. The same person who scopes an engagement builds it, deploys it, and answers the question a year later. There is also no reselling a cloud subscription with a markup attached.

Engagements

How the work is structured

How do engagements work if there is no per token pricing?

You pay once for the build, the asset you keep, instead of a meter that climbs with every query. Engagements typically start with an assessment, move to a federation build, and can continue into managed support if you want ongoing help running it.

How long does a federation build take?

Timelines depend on scope. A single integration such as a chatbot or a retrieval knowledge base can ship in a few weeks. A full federation, with a reasoning core, private store, retrieval, and an event path for agents, is a longer engagement measured in months.

Ownership

Data, code, and the models

Do I own the code, the models, and the data after the build?

Yes, fully. Code lives in a repository you control. The hardware is yours. Your data stays inside your walls at rest and at inference, and never ships out to a model you cannot audit.

Will a federation help with visibility in ChatGPT, Perplexity, and AI Overviews?

A federation is built for internal reasoning over your own data first. Where public visibility also matters, the same retrieval and schema discipline used inside a federation carries over to answer engine optimization, so the two goals reinforce each other rather than competing.

What is MEGAMIND?

MEGAMIND is Joseph Anady's own federated neural network, running on Apple Silicon hardware he owns. It is the working proof behind the federation architecture, used for research and for clients who need fully on premises inference, not a hosted default for every engagement. SDVOSB and federal

Veteran owned, federal eligible

What is SDVOSB?

Service Disabled Veteran Owned Small Business is a federal designation enabling SDVOSB set aside contracts through SAM.gov. That AI Guy is SDVOSB certified and SAM.gov registered, eligible to act as prime contractor on SDVOSB set aside acquisitions.

Do you take projects outside Missouri and Arkansas?

Yes. That AI Guy works remote first, nationally across the United States and internationally. The studio is based in Cassville, Missouri, with no requirement to be local.

Can That AI Guy take over an abandoned or migrated project?

Yes. The first step is a free written assessment of what exists and what it would take to bring it under your ownership. The second step is a fixed plan for the rebuild.
