A one-engineer studio that ships software, not slides.
That AI Guy is the working name of an engineering practice run by Joseph W. Anady out of Cassville, Missouri. We build custom AI integrations, SaaS products, custom software, and hand-coded websites for small businesses that are tired of agencies, freelancer marketplaces, and DIY no-code stacks.
How a one-engineer studio outships agencies
Most agencies bill account managers, project managers, designers, frontend devs, backend devs, an SEO consultant, and a markup on all of them. By the time the work reaches the person who actually writes the code, half your budget is gone and the brief has been telephone-gamed three times. We do it differently.
One operator, full stack, full pipeline
From discovery call to deployed production code, the same engineer holds your project. There is no handoff between the person who heard your problem and the person who solves it. That is why projects ship in weeks, not quarters, and why the work matches what you asked for.
130+ production sites shipped since 2020SDVOSB certified
Service Disabled Veteran Owned Small Business. SAM.gov registered for federal contracting and SDVOSB set-aside work.
SAM.gov verifiedNo frameworks where they hurt you
HTML, CSS, JavaScript, Python, Go. We use a framework when it earns its keep and skip it when it does not. Your site loads in under a second because it is not 4MB of JavaScript.
MEGAMIND on bare metal
A federated neural network that runs across our Mac Studios. Your data never leaves our hardware unless you explicitly route it through a hosted model.
Wikidata Q138610666Engine optimization that covers AI answers
SEO, AEO, AIO, GEO. Your site has to rank in Google and inside ChatGPT, Claude, Perplexity, and Google AI Overviews. We build for both on day one.
You own it all
Code in a Git repository you control. Models you can pull. Data that never leaves your environment. No agency lock-in.
Where the practice came from
The studio started in 2020 with one website built for a friend's landscaping business. By 2022 it was a small portfolio of hand coded sites, all for businesses that had been burned by agencies and template stacks. By 2024 the work shifted toward AI integration as small businesses started asking for chatbots, retrieval, and automations they could not get out of an off-the-shelf tool. By 2025 the practice was running its own federated neural network, MEGAMIND, on Apple Silicon to research how small business sites surface inside AI answer engines. Today the practice ships custom software, SaaS, AI integration, and hand coded sites with engine optimization built in from line one.
2020 — First client
One landscaping site for a friend in NWA. Hand coded, no template, ranked in 30 days.
2022 — Hand coded portfolio
20+ sites for tax firms, real estate teams, contractors, retail. All hand coded. All still live.
2024 — AI integration
Chatbots, RAG, vector knowledge bases shipped to clinics, accounting firms, real estate brokerages.
2025 — MEGAMIND
Federated neural network on Mac Studios. Research how small business sites surface in AI answer engines.
The values that show up in every build
If we cannot ship it, we say so
We turn down work we cannot do well. There is no upselling because there is no commission structure to incentivize it. The free audit either ends in a fixed quote or in an honest "this is not a fit, here is who would do it better."
You own everything we build
Code lives in your Git. Models you can pull and run. Documentation in your wiki. The studio leaves clean. There is no proprietary platform, no rented infrastructure you cannot replicate, and no vendor lock-in.
Weeks, not quarters
Hand coded sites in 1 to 2 weeks. AI integrations in 2 to 3 weeks. SaaS MVPs in 6 to 12 weeks. Speed comes from skipping the layers, not from cutting corners.
The work has to last
Sites built in 2020 still rank in 2026. Builds use stable libraries, semantic HTML, and documented architecture. Future maintainers (yours or ours) can pick the project up cold and ship a change the same day.
