Privacy policy — plain English, no dark patterns.
What we collect, why we collect it, how long we keep it, and what your rights are. Last reviewed April 25, 2026.
What we collect
Form submissions. When you fill out the contact form, we collect your name, email, business URL, optional phone number, and any message text. We use this only to respond to your inquiry and to deliver the free audit if requested. We do not add you to a mailing list, sell your information, or share it with third parties.
Server logs. Our web server logs the IP address, user agent, request URL, and response code for every request. Logs are kept for 30 days for operational and security purposes (debugging, abuse detection, capacity planning) and then deleted.
Analytics. We use a privacy-respecting first-party analytics setup that stores aggregate counts (pageviews per URL per day) and does not set cross-site tracking cookies. We do not run Google Analytics, Facebook Pixel, or any third-party adtech tracker on this site.
Cookies. We set a single first-party functional cookie if you dismiss the cookie consent banner, so we know not to show it again. That is the only cookie we set.
Embedded third-party content. We embed Facebook social plugins on some pages. Facebook may set its own cookies and collect data when those plugins load. We do not control Facebook's data practices — see Meta's privacy policy.
Your rights
If you submitted a contact form and want it deleted, email admin@thatdeveloperguy.com with the email address you used and we will delete the record within 7 days.
If you are in the EU, UK, or California, you have additional rights under GDPR, UK-GDPR, or CCPA respectively. We honor data deletion, data export, and processing-restriction requests. Email the same address.
What we will not do: sell your data, share it with brokers, train AI models on it, or use it for any purpose other than responding to your inquiry.
Your Privacy Choices
Under U.S. state privacy laws (California CCPA/CPRA, Colorado, Connecticut, Virginia, Utah, Texas, Oregon, Montana, and others), you may have the following rights:
- Know: Request a copy of personal data we hold about you.
- Delete: Request deletion of personal data we hold about you.
- Correct: Request that we correct inaccurate personal data.
- Opt out of sale or sharing: We do not sell or share personal data with third parties for cross-context behavioral advertising. There is nothing to opt out of, but you may confirm this in writing.
- Limit sensitive personal data use: We do not collect sensitive personal data beyond what you voluntarily submit in a contact form.
- Non-discrimination: We will not retaliate or change service quality if you exercise these rights.
To exercise any of these rights, email admin@thatdeveloperguy.com with the email address used to contact us. We will respond within 45 days.
Authorized agents: California residents may submit requests through an authorized agent. Provide written permission from the consumer plus verifiable identification.
Global Privacy Control (GPC): We honor browser-level GPC signals when received. No analytics or marketing cookies fire in browsers sending GPC.
