Accessibility — WCAG 2.1 AA as a baseline.

How this site (and the sites we build for clients) approaches accessibility. Last reviewed April 25, 2026.

Standard

Our accessibility commitment

WCAG 2.1 AA is the baseline. Accessibility is built into the markup, not bolted on with an overlay widget. Overlays do not solve accessibility problems and have generated lawsuits for the businesses that deploy them.

We aim for WCAG 2.1 Level AA conformance on every page of this site and on every site we build for clients. That includes: semantic HTML with real heading hierarchy, alt text on every meaningful image, keyboard-navigable interactive elements, visible focus indicators, color contrast ratios that pass automated and manual review, support for prefers-reduced-motion, and a skip-to-content link.

What we do not use: third-party "accessibility overlay" widgets. Those products do not solve accessibility problems and have generated lawsuits for the businesses that deploy them. We build accessibility into the markup, not bolt it on at runtime.
